An amazing and historic building built in 1772 and almost demolished in the 1970s, lovingly restored in the 1990s and now used as a theatre and arts centre with something new and very diverse on every day. (If you do visit have a look at the front which is paved with old gravestones – fascinating!)
Victoria Theatre – boasting an impressive main auditorium with a capacity of 1,512 fully-seated (and 1,860 part-standing), the theatre plays host to many high profile and international performers and artistes as well as serving and supporting a wide range of the local community events and activities – www.calderdale.gov.uk/victoria/index.jsp

Dean Clough Mills – a new venue in an old setting. Once the largest carpet factory in the world Dean Clough now houses art galleries, workshops, restaurants and is only a few minutes away from Ploughcroft Cottage – www.deanclough.com
